Associate Medical Illustrator
Jamie was born and raised in San Diego, CA. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration and a Biomedical Art Certificate from California State University, Long Beach. After graduation, she worked in the education field as a science tutor and a teaching assistant in illustration and digital media. She decided to enter the field of medical illustration to combine her interests in science, art, and education into a career that can benefit others in learning. She continued her education at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine where she earned her MA in Medical and Biological Illustration. For her thesis, she created an interactive educational module for otolaryngology researchers and graduate students to improve the understanding of comparative cochlea anatomy between bats and mice.
